Product Development Director

Responsibilities:
- Lead the department: Actively guide and manage internal and external work procedures and relationships within the product development team and with other departments, ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient workflow.
- Cell design: Create, update, and maintain accurate cell design calculators and comprehensive databases to support the design, development, and optimization of ElevenEs cell models.
- Train and Develop staff: Conduct training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of product development team members, and regularly evaluate their performance to identify areas for improvement and provide necessary guidance.
- Monitor and Optimize cell design and development: Continuously track and analyze cell design parameters in production to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement, implementing necessary changes to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Continuously Upgrade Cell Design: Stay updated on the latest advancements in Li-ion battery technology, such as improved materials, manufacturing techniques, and energy density. Incorporate these advancements into cell design to ensure that ElevenEs products remain competitive and meet evolving market demands.
- Oversee General Processes: Provide overall supervision and guidance for the general processes involved in cell design, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures.
- Provide Consultation to other departments: Offer expert advice and support to other departments on matters related to cell design, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Identify and Supervise Critical Parameters in the pilot facility: Determine and monitor key parameters that significantly impact cell design and development, ensuring their optimization to achieve desired performance characteristics.
- Collaborate with other technology departments: Foster strong working relationships and collaboration between the RnD, Product Development, and Validation teams, facilitating effective communication and knowledge sharing to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Update Cell Design Calculators: Regularly update cell design calculators based on feedback from RnD, production, and cell validation teams to ensure their accuracy and relevance in supporting the design process.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and industry standards, implementing necessary measures to protect the health and safety of employees and minimize environmental impact.
- Align with Company Goals, Measure Performance, and Foster Professional Growth: The individual in this role will be responsible for ensuring that the department’s activities and deliverables align with the overall strategic objectives of the company, while also measuring performance through established KPIs (GEMs) and providing opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- A couple of years of experience in Battery Systems Engineering or Product Development.
- Ideally experienced with prismatic cell batteries.
- Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for Renewable Energy, a passion for renewable energy technologies and a desire to contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy storage solutions.
