BESS Integration Engineer

Your job responsibilities will include:
- Translate customer requirements into internal product specifications, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and optimize battery module configurations for structural integrity, manufacturability, and compatibility with evolving cell technologies.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineers to integrate battery modules using V-cycle development principles.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and troubleshooting to address integration challenges.
- Define and execute Design Verification Plans (DVPs) to validate system performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure all integration processes and designs adhere to relevant safety, performance, and quality standards.
- Develop and manage Scope of Work (SOW) documents for suppliers, ensuring clear technical requirements, deliverables, and compliance expectations.
- Align with suppliers and internal teams on technical requirements, interface definitions, and manufacturing constraints to maintain compliance.
- Document design processes, test results, and technical decisions while continuously improving integration methodologies.
Position requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Integration Engineer, ideally in battery energy storage systems (BESS), with a solid understanding of system integration in energy storage applications.
- Expertise in battery system architecture, including Battery Management Systems (BMS), power electronics, and thermal management, with a focus on the integration of these components into scalable and efficient BESS solutions.
- Strong proficiency in requirements engineering and system integration, with experience in managing product specifications, defining interfaces, and ensuring alignment across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including suppliers and internal teams, to deliver integration solutions that meet performance, safety, and scalability requirements.
- Experience with regulatory standards related to Energy Storage Systems (ESS), including: UL 9540, UL 1973, IEC 62933
- Familiarity with testing and validation processes, including design validation plans (DVP) and integration testing, to ensure system functionality and reliability.
