Careers
E/E + BMS + HV/LV Harness Engineer
Are you an Electrical Engineer with a passion for cutting-edge battery technology? We are seeking a highly skilled E/E + BMS + HV/LV Harness Engineer to design and implement robust electrical architectures for our advanced battery systems. If you possess a deep understanding of BMS, high-voltage safety, and system integration, join our team and drive the future of energy storage.
Your job responsibilities will include:
- Define and manage electrical requirements for battery systems, aligning them with system specifications, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.
- Develop and design electrical architectures for battery management systems (BMS), focusing on power distribution, connectors, and wiring harnesses to optimize integration within battery modules and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers, to integrate electrical components like BMS, power electronics, and battery protection systems seamlessly into the overall battery system design.
- Implement safety features, such as fuse selection, fault tree analysis (FTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Arc Flash calculations, and insulation coordination, in compliance with high-voltage safety standards.
- Specify and select components for BMS and electrical systems, including semiconductors, sensors, and connectors, with a focus on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct simulations and testing of electrical systems within battery modules to evaluate functionality, reliability, and performance under various conditions, incorporating Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate system behavior.
- Develop and source test benches for E/E systems, supporting the validation of electrical and BMS components by aligning with project requirements and ensuring test accuracy.
- Oversee the integration of BMS hardware and software, making sure the interaction between hardware components, software, and other system elements is seamless for optimal battery performance and safety.
- Identify and resolve electrical and BMS-related issues, performing failure analysis and root cause investigations to improve system reliability.
- Support the development of testing and validation plans for BMS and electrical systems, aligning with product development milestones, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Author and manage Scope of Work (SOW) documents for critical suppliers, clearly defining electrical and BMS requirements, deliverables, and timelines, while maintaining compliance with the overall project objectives.
Position requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with proven experience in E/E systems and HV/LV systems.
- Strong understanding of battery system architectures and in-depth knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS), electrical interfaces, and integration of power electronics.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage safety standards, including creepage/clearance requirements, insulation coordination, and safety design features like fuse selection, fault tree analysis (FTA), and FMEA.
- Proficiency in electrical system design for battery systems, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, and connectors, with a focus on reliability, safety, and performance.
- Experience with simulations, testing, and validation of electrical components, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and the development of test benches for E/E systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for electrical systems in battery applications, such as IEC 62133, UL 2580, ISO 26262.
- Knowledge of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) standards and their application in battery systems, ensuring that electrical systems comply with electromagnetic emissions and immunity requirements.
Benefits:
